Don't tell me... I already know

Hello again my dearest friends and family,

I know... it has been a while 2 1/2 weeks to be exact. I am sorry. I have to admit that I often think about writing another post, but usually I make up an excuse to write it later. The real reason I have not written is because I have not been in the mood to write... instead my mood has been, homesick. Whether or not you have heard of that as a 'mood' before is probably unlikely, but I can assure you it most certainly is. My dear husband (it feels so good to say that :-) ) has been wonderfully understanding, however I am sure it was a little wearing to come home from a 10 hour day at work and have a grumpy wife for 2 weeks...

Don't get me wrong it is not necessarily Wisconsin, the place, that I miss. I will take 70 - 80 degrees and sunny over -10 degrees and snowing any day (other than about a week around Christmas, I will take the snow). But I sure do miss the people, you always know that a move is going to be difficult, but when life goes from 100mph to about 5pmh you learn that it is not as 'stress relieving' as you would think. For those of you who are lost allow me to fill you in, I went from planning a wedding, getting married, finishing my senior semester at UW-Madison, and working to.... being a being a stay at home wife. Sounds glorious, right?! It was.... for about a week. Please do not misunderstand me, being a wife is wonderful and I love my husband SO MUCH I could explode... but when you only see your husband, without any girlfriends, activities, gym buddies, work friends, ect. everyday of the week you are just itching for a little girl time! So if anyone is interested in flying down here for a weekend of wine tasting and the beach let me know!

That brings me to my next point of discussion (warning: I am about to make you jealous)... we live down the road from about 20+ wineries (literally). All of which offer wine tastings, fancy dinners, and spectacular views... it is amazing. Once again my wonderful husband knowing I am itching for girl time arranges for a little double-date action - wine tasting & sushi with a Packers vs. Falcons game intermission. Our first stop, Miramonte, is a small, laid back winery only a hop skip and jump down the road from our apartment. Now I should explain that every winery has a wine club - with membership perks like free wine tastings, discounted bottles of wine ect. so we joined the Miramonte wine club- impressed by their friendly staff - I am telling you, good customer service, will get you everywhere with me. There our afternoon unraveled on the porch of Miramonte with six tastings of wine and good conversation.

The next weekend (a.k.a. this past weekend) we went ...pause for effect... TO THE BEACH! Given there was no swimming involved, but there was sunshine, a pier, toes in the sand, and a surf competition. Yes, you know how there is club volleyball in Wisconsin - here they have club surfing :-) pretty awesome. Oceanside the beach town we were at is about 40 min from us, day trips are very do-able. It was a beautiful day, we walked up and down the beach for a while and then explored the ocean side shopping a little bit. If any of you know Bradley though, he was not satisfied by walking on the beach... he wanted to be in the water and spent most of his time staring enviously of every surfer, man and small child splashing around in the ocean. Don't worry though, we are already prepared for next time. Bradley purchased a wet suit and bodyboard for swimming , and I will have a beach towel and book :-)

As for all the other tidbits going on out here in California, Bradley is still liking his job, and loves Temecula, and I am still on the job hunt, but finally have a few leads, and I am learning to trust that God has something in store for me if only I can be patient - prayers are appreciated. I am still homesick but trying to be more optimistic on a daily basis. AND the PACKERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we are throwing a Wisconsin themed Super Bowl party to teach these Californians how it is really done :-).... You are all invited as well.

Well I guess that is it for now, eventually I will get Bradley on here to let you all know what work is like.

Blessings and Love,
The Klebas

The Begining of a great adventure

Hello Dearest Friends and Family,

As most of you know we have made our way safely to Temecula, California... Our new home :-) It has been a beautiful 60 degrees nearly everyday and the burden of winter jackets, scarves, gloves, boots, ect. has been lifted. Bradley just finished his first week of work at Abbott Vascular, and I have spent my week unpacking, testing my cooking skills (baby steps!) and looking for a job as well. As uneventful as our first week was adjusting to our new life together... there were a few memorable moments...

Most horrifyingly I woke up the first morning here to find a coffee maker without a coffee pot, and for those of you who are not coffee pot savvy here is the catch- to get the coffee from the maker into the pot there is a button that must be pressed upwards (usually done by the lid of the coffee pot) to allow the brewed coffee to pour out of the filter. Well instead of a pot doing this while I went about my morning routine..... the first morning I found myself with my mug where the coffee pot was supposed to be, and a spoon in my hand pressed up against that lovely button, watching the coffee literally brew into my cup... sitting... pressing.. waiting....waiting...waiting... still pressing.... finally 5 min of, holding a spoon to the button later I had a cup of coffee, and yes this is a daily ritual until our leasing company pulls through with a new pot.

Later that same day Bradley and I decided that after the long trip from Wisconsin, the Yaris deserved a little reward, so we took her ( yes, her) to get an oil change :-) While in the waiting room of the dealership the weather report is on TV. "Winter Weather Warnings" for the Temecula region all day long- apparently the talk of the town! We continue to watch and then do our best not to laugh when we find out that a "winter" weather warning, is really a rainy day warning to the locals here in Tmec.... you better believe that everyone who had a pair of wellies or a rain jacket brought them out for that one day a year they got to wear them... I wore flats and a long sleeve T-shirt.

Now, lets talk about spiders... (sad face).... not being a insect, bug, arachnid fan I spent about an hour going around and sucking up any creepy crawler that decided to make our home their. Confident I had gotten them all, dead or alive, I went on with the next few days without feeling like I needed to check every corner of the ceiling for a web. Don't get me wrong our apartment is quite nice, and was actually very clean when we moved in, the climate however encourages the plethora of daddy long legs. So anyways I am going about business getting ready for the day - ah the shower is hot ( yes you know where this is going), I step-in wet my hair and go to grab for a pump of shampoo... and then from the corner of my eye I see it... about 3/4 of the way up the wall in the shower a HUGE daddy long legs decided to join me..... my stomach jumps but I refused to get out of the nice warm shower, I sped-up my shower pace (a lot) and hopped out. In my towel I walked to the kitchen and decided to do a little bathroom cleaning. I grabbed the bottle of bleach bathroom cleaner... The spider never saw it coming, now I know it sounds cruel to bleach a spider, but this time it was now worth the risk of missing it with my flip flop. To say the least the shower is now nice and clean and the spider is... well.... down the drain.

The rest of our time here has been very relaxing, we spent our Saturday exploring San Diego on foot. Where I decided Bradley needed to find a job just so we can move there (it is amazing!) - it is about the same distance Madison is from Delafield for a frame of reference. It was a beautiful day, allowing us to walk along the bay, and through the city where we found a lovely and very delicious Italian restaurant, La Bocca, where we enjoyed lunch on the sidewalk patio. It was the perfect weekend to begin our adventures here in California

We can't wait to discover more treasures of California! Bradley is looking forward to some skiing and camping, and I can't wait until it is beach season.

We love and miss you all. Please keep in touch. Let us know of anywhere in CA you have visited and think should not be missed. Our home is open to family and friends always.

Blessings and Love,
The Klebas
