Hello again my dearest friends and family,
I know... it has been a while 2 1/2 weeks to be exact. I am sorry. I have to admit that I often think about writing another post, but usually I make up an excuse to write it later. The real reason I have not written is because I have not been in the mood to write... instead my mood has been, homesick. Whether or not you have heard of that as a 'mood' before is probably unlikely, but I can assure you it most certainly is. My dear husband (it feels so good to say that :-) ) has been wonderfully understanding, however I am sure it was a little wearing to come home from a 10 hour day at work and have a grumpy wife for 2 weeks...
Don't get me wrong it is not necessarily Wisconsin, the place, that I miss. I will take 70 - 80 degrees and sunny over -10 degrees and snowing any day (other than about a week around Christmas, I will take the snow). But I sure do miss the people, you always know that a move is going to be difficult, but when life goes from 100mph to about 5pmh you learn that it is not as 'stress relieving' as you would think. For those of you who are lost allow me to fill you in, I went from planning a wedding, getting married, finishing my senior semester at UW-Madison, and working to.... being a being a stay at home wife. Sounds glorious, right?! It was.... for about a week. Please do not misunderstand me, being a wife is wonderful and I love my husband SO MUCH I could explode... but when you only see your husband, without any girlfriends, activities, gym buddies, work friends, ect. everyday of the week you are just itching for a little girl time! So if anyone is interested in flying down here for a weekend of wine tasting and the beach let me know!
That brings me to my next point of discussion (warning: I am about to make you jealous)... we live down the road from about 20+ wineries (literally). All of which offer wine tastings, fancy dinners, and spectacular views... it is amazing. Once again my wonderful husband knowing I am itching for girl time arranges for a little double-date action - wine tasting & sushi with a Packers vs. Falcons game intermission. Our first stop, Miramonte, is a small, laid back winery only a hop skip and jump down the road from our apartment. Now I should explain that every winery has a wine club - with membership perks like free wine tastings, discounted bottles of wine ect. so we joined the Miramonte wine club- impressed by their friendly staff - I am telling you, good customer service, will get you everywhere with me. There our afternoon unraveled on the porch of Miramonte with six tastings of wine and good conversation.
The next weekend (a.k.a. this past weekend) we went ...pause for effect... TO THE BEACH! Given there was no swimming involved, but there was sunshine, a pier, toes in the sand, and a surf competition. Yes, you know how there is club volleyball in Wisconsin - here they have club surfing :-) pretty awesome. Oceanside the beach town we were at is about 40 min from us, day trips are very do-able. It was a beautiful day, we walked up and down the beach for a while and then explored the ocean side shopping a little bit. If any of you know Bradley though, he was not satisfied by walking on the beach... he wanted to be in the water and spent most of his time staring enviously of every surfer, man and small child splashing around in the ocean. Don't worry though, we are already prepared for next time. Bradley purchased a wet suit and bodyboard for swimming , and I will have a beach towel and book :-)
As for all the other tidbits going on out here in California, Bradley is still liking his job, and loves Temecula, and I am still on the job hunt, but finally have a few leads, and I am learning to trust that God has something in store for me if only I can be patient - prayers are appreciated. I am still homesick but trying to be more optimistic on a daily basis. AND the PACKERS ARE GOING TO THE SUPERBOWL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and we are throwing a Wisconsin themed Super Bowl party to teach these Californians how it is really done :-).... You are all invited as well.
Well I guess that is it for now, eventually I will get Bradley on here to let you all know what work is like.
Blessings and Love,
The Klebas
